Wet Afternoon Flies. All taken in the rain today at Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve, in such persistent rain that I had to wrap the camera and flash in a rainsleeve to keep the electrics dry. The hoped for dry patches not appearing, plus the lower than average 13C high temperature, meant that there was little in the way of insects and bugs to be found. These three difference flies were are all I took from the trip this afternoon. The only plus to getting wet, was that so were the flies.
Two of the species I can identify… a bluebottle
And a Common Yellow Dung fly
This last one eludes me – so I’ll just name it grey fly.
