Snowdrops

For me, when the snowdrops come out to flower – it signifies the beginning of the end of winter, and the start of going outdoors again to take macro pictures.  As is coming a bit of a tradition for me, I went out to photograph a small patch of snowdrops at Garston Wood, nr SixPenny Handley, Dorset.   See these previous visits in 2015, 2013, 2012, 2011, 201o to see previous snowdrop images from the same place. This clump are ideal as the area is quiet at this time of year, giving the opportunity to take time and try different things out.

This year, I took a triplet of flowers from further away, to show the full flowers in their environment.

I also took a close up through a snowdrop, and with a wide aperture also blurred some background flowers.

Finally, I also took out my Aputure Amaran constant lighting out, and used it to cast a gold light on to the snowdrops
