Bluebells at High Wood

These bluebells macro images were taken back in April this year, I have had a backlog of photos to process – mainly caused by attending a workshop, (more about that in a later post) – so I am few months behind in posting the results.

Hopefully I can catch up with the website, now I have almost caught up on the photo editing!

High Wood – near Bradbury Rings, Wimborne, had an excellent display of bluebells this year – as can be seen from these non macro photos – taken on my Laowa wide angle macro lens.

As it was hot near this part – and just a mass of bluebells – so I went into the woods for shade and more photographing.   The scene looks a bit like this from the path.

With the other variety of flowers for contrast I took some shallow depth of field images of the bluebells – using the colours of other flowers to make them stand out.  (Lens used Canon 100mm USM F2.8 Macro).

Whilst there – and quite common to these wood, a Violet Oil Beetle was found – and posed on the finders had – for this wide angle image of it.  It had to be briefly held – as it was full of running!

The final flower picture – has the bluebells less prominent – in this wide angle macro image.
