Happy and Sad

Here is another catch up post.  This of some sad looking Weevils, and one at least that seemed to have refound some joy in life!

The weevils are Cionus hortulanus weevils, feeding on the Figwort plants.  They are fairly tiny being about 4-5mm in size, so the high magnification ability of the Canon MPE-65mm (1-5x magnification) macro lens helps bring photos that are larger than life.

First off some melancholy looking ones.

I feel alone

Whereas this one does not look to down on itself.

And these two don’t look overly happy despite the sex!  (This is a stack of two images by the way), and shows more of the plant

But this one was having none of the moroseness, and jumped for joy!

Weee!
