Flowers and Pollen

I took an early spring visit to High Wood nr Bradbury Rings, to see what wild flowers and insects were about on Saturday afternoon.  There are some bluebells out in early flower, with Lesser Celandine also out in force.  A few Wood Anemones were also out.  I normally like to get a group of these, or photograph them with blue or yellow flowers in the background.   However there were no appealing flowers in these situations where I looked so I took individual flowers.  Firstly with the Canon MPE-65mm lens and flash, as I was also hoping to get some insects.

This Wood Anemone, I took at around 1:1 on the lens.  As you can see on my cropped sensor camera, this woodland flower more than fills the frame with this.

Alas the only insect that I manage was this pollen shaking hoverfly.

Switching to the Canon 100mm lens, I took these couple of shots of a another flower, with some coloured cards in the background.  I then used Topaz Glow and Texture Effects to give them an Ethereal look.

Firstly a single flower with green card.

And then the same flower with another flower moved behind it against a pale yellow card.
