A first macro visit to Blashford last Sunday with the MPE-65mm lens, not only did I take the small bee, but several different types of fly. Some of which I even managed to take some stacks of.
Here are the flies that I stacked.
First up a mosquito – two images stacked in Helicon Focus.
Then this small fly – again 2 images stacked – again in Helicon.
And the final stack – this time 3 images – also processed in Helicon focus – is of a Dance or Dagger fly at about 2x magnification.
The following are a selection of the other fly photos that I took on the day, and are all single images.
First a tiny fly with exquisit green eyes.
Then a much larger fly – a drone fly.
Next the red eyes of a hoverfly.
The final fly is one similar to the second stacked fly.
And lastly – not a fly – but a small cricket.
