Garston Woods Insects

These insect macros were taken over the early May bank holiday at Garston Woods.  I took these shots all on the Canon MPE-65mm, with yet another diffuser set up.  I promise to shortly put some findings and images of these up.

The weather was fairly warm and that meant there were quite a few insects about, and some very active ones at that.

Firstly, I took this Weevil, which closely resembles the previous nut weevil that I took there.  As yet I have not properly Id’d it.

Then this hoverfly, covered in pollen allowed me to get up close and personal.  This shot, processed with Topaz Adjust for a bit of extra grittiness (Spicify Preset) is around abouts 3x magnification.

Lastly a couple of insects, in and on the bluebells – first of all the tail end of an earwig.
