Burnt Tips and Bugs

There was a spectacular display of Burnt Tip Orchids when I visited Martin Down in mid May.  Normally I’ve only seen one or two out there, this time there were a good 8 or 9 separate sets of these orchids, all in great flower condition.  Although I did not have my tripod with me, this meant I had to shoot some shots of them.  So laying down on the grass banks I took several different plants.  Hope you like my pic of the photos of the plants.

Walking around the reserve, I also found some insects and butterflies to take some macro photos of.  The first was a small blue, on a tree leaf.

And shortly after that, I found a spider sat in an interesting web arrangement.

And then when unsuccessfully looking for a Marsh Fitilary, a beetle amongst the cowslips.

Then around the barrows I got a shot of two other butterflies, a Grizzled Skipper and a Small Copper.

I've been taking macro photography from 2004. I use both Canon film and digital cameras.
