Blashford Bughunt

Took the MPE-65mm out for the first time in a while, to hunt for the smaller bugs at Blashford Lakes on Saturday.  Having seen lots of flies when out last weekend resting, it was almost inevitable with this setup I’d not find them, and it was true they proved to be near elusive.

However I did find an nicely patient Scorpion Fly – note the resemblance to the scorpion stinger on this male.  ( These flies can’t actually sting).

Next I discovered a Green Shield Bug (Palomena prasina).

Next up was a non insect – a crab spider.
