Bees, Dancers and a Moth

Good Friday – reasonably good weather and a day off.  Time to try out another home made diffuser ( this one I am calling the plate diffuser ) – more on this and the other diffusers in a dedicated post later.

Took the MPE-65mm out with the diffuser velcro’d on and went to some fields off a river bank near White Mill.  These fields at this time of year have a lot of dandelion type flowers, and can be a great place to hunt for solitary bees and other bugs.

Found a few bees, and eventually got one that stayed around a bit on a flower, allowing me to shoot it at around 2x magnification in the following shots.

Another interesting insect was a Dance Fly that was also on the flowers – this one patiently allowing some close up shots, this shot is just over 3x Magnification.

Finally on a plant there were several of these fly like moths ( as yet unidentified ).
