A play with Topaz Adjust

I recently purchase Topaz Adjust (A photoshop plugin) after trialling the software for some landscape shots.  After taking a shot of a spider on some fungi, I decided to have a quick go with Topaz Adjust on a macro shot.

Now whilst it may not suit many macro shots, I found myself quite liking the stark effect on this shot.  The effect is Spicify (supplied preset), a fairly dramatic boosting preset.  It certainly has changed the image, quite dramatically I’m sure you’ll agree.  There are several presets that you can just apply in the plugin (and preview), making it easy to use.  The presets can be changed easily by adjusting sliders that effect the details, colour, saturation etc.  Worth a play around if you have photoshop, as the trial is fully functional for 30 days.

Here’s the original shot.

And the Topaz adjusted shot.

Whilst not being to everybody’s taste, I like the sharp and detailed (digitised in some peoples eyes I guess) effect.

I've been taking macro photography from 2004. I use both Canon film and digital cameras.
