Stacked Macro Fly
Today I went over to Moredon Bog within Wareham Forest and found a willing subject in this fly found in an old rotting tree stump.
I managed to get my focusing rail attached, and the subject pose long enough for me to get 21 shots off, before moving off. I think my manual set flash gun eventually annoyed it enough to crawl out of the way. The fly was taken on my MPE-65mm at around 2.5x life size. Aperture F9

I stacked the images in CombineZP (a free stacking program) and then tidied them up. I’ve also stacked in a Zerene demo. I’ll post another article on stacking shortly to compare these two.

Interesting article, I’m going to think about giving this stacking technique a go myself.
All I can say it’s worth a go.
I’m hoping to publish some articles on the software at some point in the future.
