On the bank holiday Monday I visited Stoborough Heath Nature Reserve. Not a great day for bugs as despite walking right round the reserve, I only managed to see 1 speckled wood butterfly ( unusual as this place can have lots of butterflies around now). Even the flies seemed to be in hiding. In fact 1 small bee kinda summed up the day, it was feeding on a flower, then rolling off and flopped to the ground!
On a plus side I did find a pair of mating Bloodnosed beetles and took them on my Canon 100mm Macro lens, after persuading them to model on a stick.
On this second one I really like the males expression!
